The
view north from the middle of Aspen Creek Ranch provides
the panorama pictured above—over 50 miles of the snowcapped
Continental Divide. Threemile Mountain frames the right side
of this picture, with the forest of ponderosa, bristlecones
and firs on the left eventually sweeping up the mountain to
meet the Pike National Forest boundary. The western boundary
of the ranch lies beyond the left edge of the picture. This
boundary lies within six hundred feet of a 10,000-foot peak
on the National Forest. It is approximately 1/3 mile from where
the picture above was taken. The northern boundary of the ranch
is straight ahead and well over ˝ mile away. You can hike or
horseback ride on the ranch or over the tens of thousands of
Pike Forest acres. |

The
9,815-foot peak pictured left, which lies completely within
the ranch, has spectacular 360-degree views of the National
Forest, South Park, the Continental Divide, 10,722-foot Dick’s
Peak (just to the south of the Ranch on the National Forest),
Thirtynine Mile Mountain and Bear Mountain. The heavily forested
northern slope holds deep snow until late spring when the whole
ranch awakens from winter dormancy into green meadows. Summer
brings beautiful wildflowers beneath its broad, high-country
skies. |
