Recreational Area
Hike or horseback
ride on the ranch and over thousands of nearby forest acres
Trails lead to 11,000-foot peaks through aspen and
pine forests
Ponds on the ranch as well as nearby river and lakes
hold trout
 The
northern fence line begins the National Forest land. Four miles
of fencing are contiguous with the National Forest. The ranch has
grassy meadows, mountaintops, springs, pines, firs and aspen. Hiking
and horseback riding opportunities are endless. Ponds on the ranch
hold trout. In addition, a back road (State Road 116, just a half-mile
from the ranch) leads over to the gold medallion trout waters of
the South Platte between Spinney Mountain Reservoir and Elevenmile
Canyon Reservoir. The river and the two lakes are just ten miles
away. Thirtynine Mile Mountain, covered in aspen, pine and fir,
lies at the eastern boundary of the ranch. The mountaintop is all
National Forest and provides excellent recreational opportunities.
All northern slopes are tree covered.
The
trail pictured directly above lies immediately off the eastern border
of the ranch as you travel up Thirtynine Mile Mountain into the
Pike National Forest. This late summer picture shows only a fraction
of the beauty of this National Forest. From these aspen quakies,
the trail leads up through groves of fir and pine to stunning views
from the mountains over eleven-thousand-foot peaks.
